Exploring the East End Of Long Island - Vacation Like A Pro
Out of all the great vacation spots in the U.S. (and abroad), the East End of Long Island is still considered one of the top-rated vacation spots, especially during the spring, summer and fall seasons. In addition to the East End’s immaculate beaches there are plenty of activities for you and your family to participate in. Here are a few fun-filled vacation activities:
Boat Rental
There is nothing like renting a rowboat, canoe or even a sailboat on Long Island. Puff & Putt Main Street located in Montauk provides vacationers and local residents with boat rental services.
Tennis
You don’t have to be a member of a tennis club to join and play tennis. If you love tennis, the East end of Long Island has indoor and outdoor facilities available for guests. Fees are normally up to $20 per hour depending on the tennis facility you choose. The East Hampton Indoor Tennis Club, East Hampton High School tennis court and the Bridgehampton High School tennis courts are available for tennis lovers.
Golfing
Long Island has several immaculate golf courses for you to choose from such as Montauk Downs State Park. This golf course is only 15 minutes away from East Hampton. If you don’t mind taking a nice 90 minute scenic ride to Farmingdale, there is also a great public golf course available for golf aficionados.
Sun Bathing at the Beach
Long Island has several beautiful beaches to choose from. You have the Main Beach located in East Hampton to begin with. Then you have the Sunken Meadow Beach, Jones Beach and more. All you need to bring is your beach towel, a good book and don’t forget the suntan lotion. Keep in mind, during the summer season; you may have to pay a small parking fee.
Fishing
Whether you enjoy fishing alone or with family and friends, Long Island is the fishing hub. If you enjoy fishing, you can arrange to have a charter boat with 2-6 people. You can also arrange for a party boat with 10-100people.
